Saddling is usually carried out from the left side but it can be done from the right side if you prefer. Place the blanket in the horse's back. For a Western saddle fold the blanket in half first and place on your horse's back with the fold at the front. If you have a blanket with attached rings endure they are in an up position not under the blanket against the horse.
